Hi there! New to the board. Iv been considering picking up a chainsaw mill to do some milling for a few projects around my place. Looking at buying the logosol f2 mill. Does anyone have any experience with this mill? I have a few different chain saws I run for various projects so I thought it made sense to get a chainsaw mill and I like what I have read/seen online. I won't be doing any massive logs, most likely the largest I will make is a 10x10 beam or similar. Just wondering how these mills perform for accuracy etc?

Thanks!

Check my posts I had a Logosol for a number of years. They work great. You need at least a 70cc saw.

I've had a M5 for 20 years now and it still cuts great.

It came with a stihl 066 and stihl PMX ripping chain/bars.

The chain is pricey but cuts great.

I had a look at the logosol website and it seems the F2 is their newest mill.  I'm sure it is an improvement.  They mention a 391 as a saw, no way I'd go that small.  Get 90cc or better.

This is my first time on a forum? I am trying to figure out how to post a question on here or look up a subject. Trying to fit 42 to 50 " Oak trees on my LT 50. To quarter saw ... Very interested in theLogsol... Attachments for a chainsaw mill. My question is can I mount that on the log where I can split it right down the center on the pith , Thus making it much easier to get the log down to size where it will fit in The 24 inch opening on my Woodmizer. Last week I cut a
42 inch Red Oak 20 foot three long. Just a little heavy... Took three hours and the use of a sky track to cut it down to size. Very much overloaded my mill

Logosol mills don't handle big heavy logs like that all that well. Although you can put the mill on a big log, rather the putting that log on the mill. I have a lot of logosol videos if you want to see at work.
If you just want to trim a log up you can do it with a Haddon lumber maker that clamps to your bar. Here is a video of it. The size of your bar is the limit of how big a log you could cut in half. You attach a 2x6 to the log and it rides on it giving you a straight cut.

I have an earlier version, the M5.

Big logs you have to do "inverted" milling, mounting the mill above the log.

I've not tried this but there are videos on the subject
