Gave up on the hardwood. Can't get white or post oak, so by the looks of it, reds aren't much better then either of the 2 listed, plus there's how it dries.
Hemlock and SYP both seem to be about a buck a board ft kiln. Green syp is about $0.65 bf. Don't have a price on hemlock green.
Which would any of you use and why come?
Thanks

I'd go with hemlock, from what I've read it should be more rot resistant than SYP, probably more stable too.

What are you doing with it? Framing? Siding?

You could just sticker and stack green SYP for a few weeks and it will be air dried this time of year, and save the difference.  If you KD it then it will eventually absorb moisture and get to an ambient, air dried point anyway.

Kinda limited on space in the yard. Might could do that though. Save a couple of coins, plus could stain it before going up. How much does syp move? I know after they treat it, it's sneaky snake.
