  I was shoveling saw dust along the discharge side of my mill today. I took a few second break and looked around the yard. Up by the camper I spotted my snow blower.
   I started thinking! Witch usually ends up breaking something when I think like that. So I go over to the snow blower, get it running, and take it over to the mill. Within 2 minuets and three passes I had the sawdust blown past the end of the mill where I can scrape it up  my tractor bucket. I think with a little practice I can do it cleaner and faster.
   Also it exercises  the snow blower during the summer.

Right on, right on, right on , Excellent on your part. Way to go.

If it's a walk behind snowblower be careful. Most of the ones I've seen do not have an air filter on them and you could end up sucking sawdust into the engine.
The hurry-er I go the behind-er I get.

In the South all we could do is bush hog it.

    Sheepkeeper;
   Thanks for the air cleaner Tip.    It only has about 6 hours on it and I have never had the intake cover off. I'll check it in the morning.

Hmm, great minds think alike ;)  I have about 2 feet of sawdust behind my mill (30'+) and was not looking forward to shoveling it out.  So I bought this:

  Its a 40v rechargeable unit.  Going to try it out real soon.

Or back an airboat up to the pile, sawdust and some slabs gone

Wonder how it handles pieces of bark and wood splinters??

All the big bark chunks get picked up after every log.  Sometime we pop the bark off before we cut.  My sawdust pile should be fairly clean.  The "blade" on the show blower is made of rubber and is like a section of a semi mud flap.

Sixacreasand;

   I pick most of the bark and chips out as I saw. It did pass some 2 to 4 inch chunks trough easily.

Sawmill Man;

      Have you tried that power blower yet and if so how did it work?

Oh yes i use it all the time especially in the summer. It evens serves as an outdoor airconditioner and an aid in burning slab piles. The only downside is the help complains of sawdust in their eyes. Wish i had one 30 yrs ago. I will let the sawdust build up and make a video sometime
