First off, thank you to everyone who posts here regularly with such great information! The FF has answered a lot of questions for me already without me every having to post a thing! So thanks for that.

My current dilemma I have had no luck with despite looking through various books, the internet in general, and doing a search here on the FF.
I'm working on plans for a timber frame straw bale house over a full basement. Since I'm not doing a slab, I want the posts partially exposed on the interior of the house, and I want the posts to land on top of the foundation walls, I need the floor to cantilever out 18 inches on each side to support the bales. So I've decided to use dragon beams to get support out to the corners of the cantilever but I cannot find much in the way of pictures of horizontal dragon beams (as opposed to angle for a hip roof) and the pictures that I have found don't show anything specific about the joints.

How do I tie the end of the dragon beam into the beam at the back edge of that part of the floor? One option I've considered is to use the same shape hint that would go at the end of a brace. Would that be strong enough?
(And yes, these plans WILL go to an engineer before I actually build this but I'd like to get as much as possible sorted out first!)

Thanks!
