On the Canadian side of the ST. Lawrence river, opposite New York state is old Canada village and they run a water powered up and down every day in summer in normal times.

Yes, I saw the Upper Canada Village mill 2 summers ago. They were putting up some nice stuff. The volume was adding up also. They must retail the lumber above what they need to maintain the facility?
