husky 372xp bit the dust/bad day

The crank seals went out on my 11 year old 372xp and the saw has been running lean for a while. It finally seized up. Called local dealer looking for another and found out they are no longer made. Have to go with the new computerized models. The good news is he said to call around that maybe someone still has one in stock. The best news is that I found one. Told him SOLD. Will pick up tomorrow. Maybe it is a good thing saw died now and not next year. I hate computerized machinery. So maybe it is a good day after all.

Believe it or not, for what has to be the 4th time now, the 372 is coming back for yet another encore.

Supposed to be available for shipment about Oct 19.

"Something" happened to mine 372. I had it since 2006? They thought it was the fuel mix. ??? I doubt it, I use 40:1 and I am the only one that does the fuel and sawing. ;D I had them do the work.

But I still have it. Could of bought a new one for $2-300 more. Hope it last for another 13 years.

Spike their telling us later this month we can get the 372, we can still get the 365 still. I hope soon both husky and stihl get stuff rolling cause neither company has anything on their shelves parts or saw wise

Fair enough, if I had that I would fix it up for a spare. Would love to get my hands on an OEM 372 to rebuild and cherish. Let me know if you change your mind. ;D

Ed; the 365 is also supposed to come back here in the states. Where that fits in a pretty crowded line up who knows. Ship dates on the 372 is late Oct, if they stick to it.

There is really a serious saw shortage with both Husky and stihl. Surprised it's not being talked about more. Haven't seen a problem with parts yet, but my favorite Oregon distributor is out of stock on some common bars; had to order from someone else. If bars and chains get short it will really throw a wrench in the works. Most of this is the pipeline finally running dry from covid related production woes. Reduced work forces in factories, inability to get components from vendors. Then the hurricanes kind of finished it off. Blowers will be the next one when the leaves start turning. This is hardly unique to chainsaws or OPE. There are a lot of things in different industries you just can't get now.

I stock heavy on saws, so I'm not that affected yet. Dealers who order light can't get anything right now and their shelves are empty. I'm out of 390's and 395's, and I'll run out of 550's. OK on most other stuff, but I'm getting calls from further and further away from guys looking for saws. Part of the delay on the 555/562 are updates to those models with the air filters and such. Gonna be an interesting Fall.

were not so lucky up here Spike, most dealers are sold out of everything here and the distr. has nothing to refill their shelves, I got lots for myself cause I buy in bulk but know some that got nothing , most dealers have switch to whatever brand they can get their hands on to sell to people

How long has that been going on up there Ed? Down here it's only in the last month that it really started to fall apart.

Here on the east coast the lack of dealers having access has been going on for about 2 months now. My neighbor tried to get a new ride on when his old one died back in early July. He is still waiting and the dealer can't even tell him when he might have access.
I inquired about a MS 261 C-M a couple weeks ago and was told he would try and track one down. No luck yet.
I am glad I stocked up on chains and such for my other saws. Just in case that access goes next.

its been for a while Spike , its not good up here. Stihl is pretty much wiped out , no chains, no bars, no files and no saws . Its not just chainsaws its everything , GMC dealer has no cars or trucks to sell, ATV dealers got nothing to sell, no sleds, no snowblowers and now their talking about shutting everything down again

Knock on effect of this worldwide situation. Some of our suppliers are running short here as well.

Was in my local Stihl dealer last week and noticed that the displays were very light on product of all kinds and they had no professional saws whatsoever. Glad I don't have any needs right now.

I think what happens is if you get disasters like hurricanes in the south and half the west coast on fire like now it over runs the supply chain .
A few years ago with ice storms though out the midwest Lima Ohio was the worst in the nation .My dealers distributor sent three semis full of saws and he sold them in about a week .Because most of the better grade saws were all gone two trimmers I know of bought 029 and 039 saws to get by with .Most of those are in parts boxes in my shed. Plus I think Husqvarna 235 trim saws ,those are in boxes too .No Stihl 020T's to be found ..Stihl, Husqvarna or whoever can't predict these events to ramp up production prior to . I might add during that ice storm that dealer was open from 6 AM to 12 PM for about 3 weeks .It was a mess .

My husky dealer sent me a flier. Everything is on sale. Bars chains and saws. No great deals but must have lots yet. First I've heard on the 372 coming back. I bought a few and left them in the box awhile ago.
