We purchased a used Hudson Oscar 28 that came with a Briggs 8hp. When we set the motor on the plate the holes don't line up and the clutch is 3/8" higher then the wheels. Does anybody know what the motor that was specked originally with the unit? Or what motor fits , we set a Predator 6.5 on it and the shaft is to short to line up with the wheels

My Oscar 328 has a 10HP Vanguard (Briggs) and I am pretty sure it is original. Not sure if this helps you at all.

Hate to state the obvious...call Hudson Tech Support and ask them.  They are very helpful...
