I am going to need one. Spillway is crete. Thinking of hardware clothe bent in a 45 with both ends on the crete. Wood need to secure more so than weight alone though. Which any of you using? Ideas?

do you have a drain tube that is lower than the spillway so water does not have to run over?  it can have hardware cloth and a wood frame.  the spill way would be for big rains and as an overflow for the pipe that comes up to the desired height, and drains through or under the spillway.

What about some kind of net staked in the water just in front of the spillway.  Might be less likely to get clogged with debris than it would in the spillway.  Could maybe use something more like construction fencing.

id lay a row of cinder blocks across it with small gaps for the water and see what happens.

could make an angle iron frame, and fill it with expanded steel, but rust will be an issue.  I think what every you make, it should me easily removable for cleaning and repair.  your style of spillway is neat.  many ponds end up with a dike or terrace on the low end if made in a natural waterway.  then the concern is water tunneling under the concrete or through the berm.  often along the spill tube.  looks great.
