I need a "John proof" cant hook. Things tend to have a short life around me unless they are commercial grade. Cant hooks fall into this realm. Not afraid to spend money, but I also like saving costs, I might be further ahead to repetitively replace handles or make some piece of workout equipment via an indestructible cant hook. Not having a cant hook is costing far more than the $120-250 I should drop on a new hook.

Logrite, they are THE toughest out there & even a sponsor for the Forestry Forum here. You can get one local but in orange if you purchase it from your local Stihl dealer because they are the people who make it for Stihl. Tough as nails!
Trying harder everyday.

LogRite. The regular hooks are tough, and they have an extra heavy duty option, too.

Logrite, only way to go. My other suggestions would be to get a Logrite.

Guys, i have a daft question. Is the hook of a logrite,  heat treated in any way? Or is it just hard steel.

I feel like we just had this conversation. :D :D
Yes, logrite, there is no better hook available, sponsor link on the left column of this page. Lots of styles and sizes available, just pick what works. Its a no-brainer choice.
Satamax, I have no idea, but you could email them and they will get you an answer. I do know the hooks are laser cut and this process tends to leave a tougher surface along the cut lines. I know mine show no wear whatsoever or twisting. Those cast hooks just don't bite like a logrite no matter how you sharpen them. I have not even thought about having to sharpen my logrite yet.

I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

If you go on Logrite's webpage I think they have a picture of someone hanging their whole body off of one of the mega hooks. I think I remember seeing pictures on here years ago of someone setting the hook, then attaching a chain to the handle and pulling on it with a tractor. I wouldn't advise that, but the point is that you aren't going to bend or break these things with mere human strength.

I bought 2x log-rite hooks and 2x pick hooks at the show 3yrs ago and been very impressed. I bought the biggest cant hook they make and its RUGGED, im impressed.

all the tips (toe hooks, peavey points and hookaroon tips) are heat treated and then plated.  so are all the hooks.
