Well, I took the plunge and listed my first item ever on Ebay a few minutes ago. I like to collect Forestry and logging ans sawmill stuff, and I decided that some of the things that I might have 2 of or really does not fit my collection that I would try to sell so I could continue my habit.

Have any of you guys ever sold on ebay? I know some of you have purchased. Man, it took me forever to list that 1 item. Don't know if I got time for this. :D

Here is a link to my first attempt. Not trying to solicite bids hear, just wanted you to see my USFS fire bucket. I got 2 one much better then the one I listed.

Does it still hold water?
I could use that for a bathtub.

Jeff

You must not be very big. I don't know if it holds water or not. I would say it must be pretty old, so I would not even try for fear of ruining it. Just like your not suppose to clean up any old antiques. Could devalue it.

That`s a common feed bag, you better drop your price by $9.  :D

They also make good sea anchors for your boat. Some also had canvas bottoms, the buckets were easy to store and had many uses.

I've sold some stuff on E-Bay and had good results.  The biggest was a 1941 Buick Special that had belonged to my Grandpa.  He had tried to sell it locally for several years and even put an ad in Hemmings but everyone wanted something for nothing.  After he passed away :( :'( I listed it for Grandma and she made out quite well.  I also sold a Model T for my cousin.  A guy from Mexico bought it.  They came all the way to Pound Wisconsin to pick it up.  They even brought Don a couple bottles of REAL tequilla 8) 8) and speaking from experience it was real :o.  I haven't sold anything recently but have some stuff that needs to be diposed of namely a bunch of antique outboard  motors that my other Grandpa collected.  There a few that I wouldn't even consider selling but probably twenty that I have no use for and could use the money to buy old tractors/tractor stuff ;D.  Dee is into Strawberry Shortcake Dolls and has been after me to give her a lesson on E-Bay selling.  I haven't listed anything since PhotoPoint went under and took my $25.00 >:( >:( >:( >:( and am not sure about posting pics on E-Bay.  That's something I'll have to look into.  How'd you put up pics Jeff?

Hi corley5,
We sell things on ebay and use their picture hosting service. It is real easy and your first pic is free with the listing. After the first one ,additional pics cost 15 cents each. We haven,t had any problems. Better knock on some wood. lol.I think it is easier cause when you do your listing you don't have to mess with image sources. All you have to do is take your pics , crop them to a resonable size, save them to your computer ,and when your doing your listing ebay will ask  you what your file names are and where you stored them. when you download your listing it will automatically download the pics to.

Hope this helped,  Dan   :)
