PatD and I are closing the year out at the cabin sooo.....

Why not do it in style.  Smashed taters, Black Eyed Peas, Mustard Greens, Cornbread, and a 12 oz. Filet'.  OK some of the above is traditional "New Years" food so why not Both??

My New Year's Resolutions always seem to go in one Year and out of the Other anyway.  ::)

That's a fine looking plate of food!
The First 72 years of childhood is always the hardest.
My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

That looks healthy and good. I've got my turkey soup on the go for this evening

We had some traditional foods for New Year's supper and some others that were just good.  We had fried bass, hush puppies, grits, black eyed peas, collard greens, roast beef, wood duck, and corn bread.  There was pork in the black eyed peas.

I took the picture before the beef, the other dish of peas and duck made it to the table.

We normally eat our big meal, with the whole clan, on Sunday nights but we got started a day early.  We will probably do it again tomorrow evening too.
