A shameless bribe...

I bought a nose hair trimmer a while back through Amazon, maybe from a partner vendor. I'll admit this at risk of damaging my image. Anyway I tried it for a month and found it so tedious to use as to be nearly useless. So I wrote a review stating that giving it the lowest ranking possible. A while later I get a nice email from the manufacturer [well I guess actually who ever brands the item] offering me $30 if I remove my review. Original price was about $12.

Oh well, even though that may pass for ethical in the modern world I'm a tad offended. I'm thinking to write them back and say if they want to refund my purchase price I'll amend my review to reflect that.  Best I can do....

I suspect that if Amazon knew about the underhanded offer they would remove them as a vendor, if not they should.

  I'm with Blu. Tell them if they refund your money you'll amend the review to "Not satisfied. Company notified and refunded my money."

  A Bic lighter works well as a nose hair remover if you can tolerate the burning feathers smell for a while. ;) Disclaimer - Bic lighters do not endorse this use for their product. :D

Way back when the product reviews first started I thought it a great idea and always checked before buying.  As time went along I became somewhat disillusioned by the reviews as I realized many were bogus or plain fakes.

A couple of years ago I got to spend time in a major "influencer company".  Got to see how they recruited big time influencer's with more than 50,000 followers from social media and came up with high powered marketing schemes.  Money was the only driver on this bus.  Pat my back and I'll do the same.

Back to doing my own research and making my own mistakes before spending.  Something I learned years ago, due diligence is the best course.
