Hi,
I've got a strange problem with the saw guide on my new mill.  Wondering if anyone has experienced this.  Ive only had the thing up and running a couple of months so I'm still learning.

The mount that the arm retracts on for the ceramic guides isnt plumb with the blade itself.  When the arm is extended all the way out I'll adjust the ceramic guides but when retracting the guides will contact the blade and push it up at least a 1/8th inch.

Also, I cant fully retract the arm because the upper part makes contact with a "bushing" that is part of the band wheel axle assembly.

I've called/emailed Norwood about this to no avail,  hopefully, someone has experienced this.
Thanks,
Chris

The part that you are contacting is the tensioning spring backing plate. For some reason it looks to be sticking out a lot more than mine.

Also the adjustable blade guide can be shimmed with washers to make it level. I'm about an hour from Charlotte and would be happy to help you get your mill tuned in. Send me a PM.

For anyone with this same problem, Norwood recently sent me an email stating they have realized there is a manufacturing defect and have sent me a plate to correct the problem.  The part number is HD36V2-0025.

I was surprised to get the email as it was unsolicited.  +1 for Norwood Customer service.
