AustinL.

What specs of blades are you guys using for your sawmill blades??

I have the Baker 3665D which uses a 17'4" blade

Lenox and Kasco blades are what baker recommends.

We will be cutting mostly Oak with some Pecan mixed in.

What TPI? Blade thickness? degree of teeth?

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks!

Nice mill I have the same model. What with blades? Mine is set up for 2 inch. For the last year I have been using Munkfors, they are made from high quality Swedish steel, I got them from Keene Saw/Supply I had read about them on a Previs post. I .043 th at 1200 psi on the tension gage. The thinner blades last a lot longer. Their welds have lasted longer than the blade life. Out of 20 blades over the last year milling 3 have cracked,7 in the daily carnage pile, and 5 still in shipping box. I just looked it up $40.25 each plus shipping, that would recommend.

I'm another Baker fan, I have a 3650E and I'm running Wood-Mizer's 7 degree Turbo (1 1/2") bands.
Once you get sap in your veins, you will always have sawdust in your pockets.
