Woodmaster 18 Chip Breaker

I just purchased a used Woodmaster 18.  It was set up for gang ripping.  I installed the cutter head and checked the spring adjustments on the infeed and outfeed rollers.   What keeps the floating infeed roller from making contact with the rigid mounted Chip Breaker which isn't even mentioned in the Owners Manual that I could find??  No gap adjustment??  Or is it suppose to rub?  I updated the rollers @ $170 each and don't want to see the infeed one destroyed. ???
