i'm hoping its ok to post links to youtube?

Would this be possible with the size of my cabin? Instead of 2 logs underneath, i would use 3 (two down the long side of the cabin and one down the middle)

I only have 100ft to work with to my property line. My initial guess would be somewhere around 40-50ft.

Thanks everyone for the input....keep it coming.

The video you posted looked like that cabin moved just fine. Whether or not your underlying frame will adapt to that plan and hold together will depend on how well it is rigged with the aforementioned cross cabling and under-pinning. The basic idea is there, and the same reason to move the cabin is clearly evident in the video. They were having a good time getting it done too.

This building was moved two blocks down the street in Edenton, NC sometime in or shortly after 1952.  The story I've heard multiple times is that they rolled it on logs.  The movers placed a bottle in a window sill to show how careful they were with it.  The bottle never fell.

It took them three weeks to make the move and turn the house 180 degrees.  It's a fine house in a nice location.

I think it would be best to do the front cross log different than they did. Where your cabin is wider you won't be pulling straight on the skids so it would be better to have a log in-between the skid logs (can still have one notched across the top).

As you pull the ropes/chains/straps it will want to pull the front of the skids together and collapse them so the spreader log will hold them apart.

Notice the notched in plank across the back of the skid logs to stop the skid logs from pulling out from under the cabin.
