Went collecting beech seeds at my next door neighbor's.  There are no Beech on my property, but he has 6-8 mature Beech trees in his yard that look very healthy.  This one is about  33 inches DBH I'd say.

I'd never seen Beech seeds before.  We don't have Beech in Northern IL where I came from.  Moved here to Northwest side of Indy just over 2 years ago.
Here are the seeds, now I just need to look up how to sprout/grow them.  I want a few in my small woods.

Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

Open up a few and taste them. They are pretty small but taste pretty good.We used to eat them when we were kids.My brother would try anything especially when he saw something else eating them (in this case squirrels).Really more trouble than they are worth but we were lacking much in the entertainment department.
