Hello, I recently bought a Stihl 029 at a yardsale, it ran poorly when I got it, the gas was dead and when it did start the chain was constantly rotating like if the choke was still on, I ended up blowing out the breather, draining the gas and blowing out the carb, I put the saw back together and added fresh gas but it wouldn't start, I checked for fire and now the saw has no fire? I checked the choke/kill switch and it seems to be operating fine, I checked the plug in right behind the kill switch and it's plugged in

To check for fire first I grounded the plug and it had none, then I put a screw driver in the plug cap (holding the metal) and pulled it over and it had no fire, then I pulled the plug cap off (possibly a mistake) and shaved the wire, grabbing directly onto the wires with my fingers and pulled it over and still no fire

I'm not used to stihl chainsaws, I'm just wondering is there anything else I could have tampered with while pulling the carb off that would affect the fire besides the kill switch?

Any advice is appreciated

Disconnect the kill switch and check for spark, they  can be intermittent.
