I have 350 board foot of 8' long 4/4 walnut I would like to dry. Don't have anything that matches the walnut to make a full load right now. Nyle suggests making a tall stack but narrow stack. What if I make a normal 4' wide stack and baffle it good? Anybody dry a load this small?

Sure. it's no problem.  Main thing on the L53 is to get the baffles set so the airflow circulates correctly on a short load.  That's why I use foam board, I can place it on the top of a short stack and angle it to the horizontal fan deck to cut the air off and make sure it is going where it is supposed to go.

If green, watch your dry bulb depression, and put some weight on it to keep it flat nob matter what.
YellowHammerisms:

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Be smarter than the sawdust

You can do it that way, Larry but a taller, narrower stack requires less baffling and better airflow. It's a recommendation not a requirement.
