Has anyone heard how the storm effected them?  Hopefully they are unscathed.

southwest virginia here. Wasn't good for my family. my wife was coming home from work friday and a dead oak at least 24 " at the butt fell on her jeep wrangler right on the drivers door. with the grace of god she walked away with only a large cut above her forehead about three inches. it crushed the whole top of the jeep down, the roll bar at the drivers seat is down to the top of the seat, head rest is above the roll bar. top of the wind shield  is almost touching the steering wheel. I really don't know how she walked away from it the more i go out and look at it. she had to walk about 1/4 mile and she found a man sitting beside the road just watching the storm. He took her to get help at the rescue squad, she said he drove through downed trees and flood waters crossing a low water bridge to get her out.  she got released from the hospital yesterday/saturday, she is doing good other than being sore all over.

The area around Jake might be without power for another week or so according to a friend in that area. I heard from Waycross north to the Asheville area power, cell service, and internet might be out for a week or so.

Jake posted some video's on Facebook recently.  He lost quite a few trees (uprooted) in  his front yard but the house and buildings were ok.  He's be busy cleaning up for a while.
