I have an old Husky 51 that's been a great saw.  I've mostly moved to a Stihl 362 but the Husky is slightly lighter so I use that on smaller stuff.

Twice now, it's quit idling especially after completing felling cuts on small to medium trees, (up to about 12" or so).  I'm working on dropping ailanthus in one area and doing precommercial thinning in long leaf pine in another area so it would be nice to have the saw behave itself.

The first time it started not idling, I adjusted the carb and it was fine.  Yesterday, it did it again and the carb adjustment hasn't worked so far although truthfully I was tired and didn't spend a lot of time on it.

After market carbs are inexpensive and I'm tempted to put one on the saw rather than mess around.  I suspect that will be hit or miss as I think all of them are Chinese.

Any other suggestions?

Might check the fuel filter and line for cracks or obstruction. Also the small screen in the carb might be clogged. I would check that before replacing carb. Also check the air filter

Thanks.  I had checked the air filter but will check the others.
