I do well to get 2400 kbits/sec on my dialup. I have a big dish C-band for TV which is 20 years old now, slowly loosing channels to digital. Soon, I'll be back to the free to air channels because the small dish in Canada is pretty pathetic. Dought there will ever be broadband out here in the country, but the government did announce they were funding the expansion of broadband. I see they want $50/month is places that have it, which is too high for what I'd use it for. I suppose once they have more customers the price will drop. When dialup first started I could only login to internet thru a shell account and they charged you by time blocks, which was very expensive.  ::)
