Man sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself.  We have raspberries along with everything else coming ripe right now.  We picked a whole bunch of raspberries and decide to make jam and jelly.  Got em all mashed up, measured out, and was going to town.  Decided to make one just raspberries, then a couple different batches with mixed berries.  Well first batch was finished at about 10PM so we decided that was enough for one night.  To save time the next day I poured a batch into the pot, added the sugar, a lil lemon, slapped the lid on and called it a day.   Came home the next day in the afternoon and couldnt help but notice the smell.  The lid on the pot was clinkin away and I knew something was odd.   Uhh ohh,   Sugar, fruit, natural yeast that is present on everything.....   I was making ETOH in the kitchen.  Yep, seems it started to ferment nicely and on its way to becoming wine.   :D  I doctored it up with a few things I have from home brewing I have done in the past and now I have about 4 gallons that should be ready later this fall.  Multiberry wine coolers around the campfire.
The rest of the batches cam out just fine though.  Fresh and delicious!  Tried to post some pics but that seems to have changed since I did it last (no Jpegs?)  and no time to fiure it out right now.

Since there hasn't been much else to do lately, I've picked about 16 litres (4 gallons) of raspberries in the last 4 days. My fridge is getting pretty full. :)

Swampdonkey, what do you do with all those berries  ???  I try to only pick enough that I'll use that day or very soon.  I've had raspberries stored in the fridge get moldy within a day  :(     I should've picked some to freeze.  There's not too many left around here

Do what johncinquo did. Toss some sugar in and leave them for a day or so. WHEEE

ohsoloco,

I freeze mine in the freezer unit of the fridge, 2 litres to a bag, and I eat what I can by keeping 2 litres of fresh picked in the refridgeration part. I usually consume a litre a day. They'll keep a week in  my fridge if I have to. It's hard to keep up when ya pick 2 or 3 buckets a day. ;D They'll soon slow down, but I just can't let them go to waste. :)
