It is SO COOL making my own boards 8)  There are a bunch of things I've been putting off 'cause I didn't want to buy $ 80 worth of wood and cut it into small pieces.

I had a gate made and someone just dropped it in my yard. It's 21 feet long and 9 feet high ( I thought it was 10 when I started this... ) It needed to be moved .

It would have been possible to prop up one cornor but this seemed sturdier.

When I got up north, past all the strange looks, I let it down onto some blocking on a little trailer and

attached the long end to the trailer hitch on the atv.

Then dragged it untill I got stuck in the tank-trap at the entrance to my land ::)

No problem ;D I got boards to pry with and chains to pull with and the chainsaw to cut down trees in the way. ;D
In a week or two I'll have the backhoe trucked up there and install it.

Thanks again to everyone for all the information and inspiration ;D

Sounds like you are having fun with it. 8) BTW, I like the half track atv. How is it in sharp turns?

Yup....I'm always having fun ;D

The wheels are way better for sharp turns than the tracks  :o I'd have arms like a gorilla if I kept the front tracks on in the summer :D

Joan...That looks like one HEAVY DUTY gate ;D
           How much does it weigh?
Looks like an excellent use for (first time rough cut lumber) 8)
Keep having fun & Play safe :)
just another beaver with a chainsaw &  it's never so bad that it couldn't get worse.
