Charles stopped by this morning for an unexpected visit.  First time we had met so I gave him a tour of the shop and showed off the sharpener and setter.  Showed off the mill and got to thinking why not saw a log? ;)

After bout 15 minutes of instruction Charles had it figured out and I became the off bearer.  Think this guy is a natural. :)

Charles with his first boards...said something about horse stall lining boards for his wife.  Notice the FF hat! 8)

And the host...not my normal sawmill attire.  I would have had on my hat also but I put it away to keep it clean for special occasions and now I can't find it. ??? :o  :'(

Always like meeting FF members and Charles was no exception.  We had a great visit on a beautiful day.  Made plans to saw up some big hedge later this year.

Larry, have you ever run into Paul Easly?  He is a Kasco rep in Illinois.

It was nice getting out and meeting Larry at his place. The wife was surprised when I brought the boards home.  When I told her that they were for her horses, she said when are you going to put them up.

She now thinks that I'm ready to put it up, when those are the only boards that I have for it right now.

Now I cant wait to saw some more logs into lumber

OWW, been wandering around down in Arkieland for little over a week...no access to the computer so that's the reason for the slow response.

Never met Paul, but have heard good reports on his work as Chairman of the Illinois Tree Farm Committee.  Have read some of his writings...he has an unusual viewpoint in that a more value is left in the woods after a commercial log harvest than was taken out...dependent on species.  Guess he has built a thriving wood business with both niche wood and lumber.  I would welcome the chance to meet him or hear him speak.
