Hi I'm thinking of buying a international 3500 series backhoe. The guy selling it is known to be reliable. Parts will be 1.5 hours away - but the dealer says getting them will be no problem. Leaks some trans hyraulic fluid but engine is strong, new clutch from the 70's? hours a mystery as well.

What do you guys think of International?

Thanks

I have a '68 International truck that is tough as nails. It is built solid like a tank. Nothing fancy or luxurious but a solid vechicle that starts everytime.
I am not sure about the tractors but I bet they are just as well built.
Mobile Demension sawmill, Bobcat 873 loader, 3 dry kilns and a long "to do" list.

I never know of anything international built that was tough as nails we still have a 38 H that is used all of the time with a little care they will run for ever

They are bullet-proof.  My brother still has the Super M that was the first tractor my dear old Dad owned.  It is almost 60 years old now and still running strong.  I plowed hundreds of acres with that old tractor.  We broke it a couple of times, but we fixed it ourselves.  It has never been in the dealer's shop in the 50 or so years my family has owned it.

Thanks guys, I bought the loader - its suppose to be a real work horse. Looks ugly but works hard - just what I wanted (not the bobcat in the back!)
