I'm running a Nyle L 200 kiln. What is max temp with unit running and no damage to  L200?  What is max temp with L200 off using auxillary heat source? Started drying in Sept. 05. No problems so far!

We recommend not running with refrigeration any higher than 120F with an L200. However, if you get "stuck" and the lumber is below 10-12% and drying has slowed, you can cheat on that and let the temperature creep up to 130-135F. Don't do it with wetter lumber. The system has a manual reset safety that will trip and protect the refrigeration system if it gets too hot in the chamber and before any damage is done. When the refrigeration is not running, and the lumber is dry you can turn the temperature up to 160F to set pitch or sterilize. But the manuals are all written with a limit of 120F. The higher limits in certain cases are things we have designed and tested for but because they cannot be reached except in very special circumstances, we cannot publish those limits.
