Mr.Mom I have a lumberlite myself, and for the price of it, its a great little mill.As a partime time mill or hobby mill cutting for yourself,or maybe cutting some one the side its a great mill ,cuz with being lighter and a little smaller motors it cuts a little slower in the bigger harder woods. But i have tackled 28 in birch logs and it worked just fine (a little slow in the wider full cuts). Its a simple mill ,easy to assemble and simple to run ..I am very happy with mine..

Ask little-guy on the forum.  We all want to hear about the good and bad and the way they get fixed.  :)

I'm sure the mill will do just fine as little-guy stated.  I have sawn with a few different mills made by Norwood.  Lumbermate Mark IV and the Lumbermate 2000 were both good manual mills and have sawn many board feet of lumber.  I sawed over 70,000 bdft of cants with the Lumbermate 2000 and it ran as good as a manual mill should.  Change the blades often and it will prevent all kinds of problems in the long run.

since running the mill since last summer the only problems that i had were the bed could use some strengthening ..and that was done by adding a couple(stock are 4 feet apart ,put my extras in at the bolt holes at 2 feet) extra log bunks in the area where most of my logs lay, and I mounted it all on a channel iron frame then welded that to a trailer frame to make it portable. With the extra bunks can now mill short length (under 4 ft.)pieces of special logs that are hard to get long pieces(apple, mountain ash,and other exotic stuff up here in B.C. yard trees). The only other thing was when i was tackling that 28" birch (mill is rated for 24") was getting some head shake as i cut with the head fully raised.but it was actually minor becuz you just have to slow down with its smaller engine size(mine is a 6.5 horse)Other than just those couple things it has been a great mill .. well worth the money spent i feel.
