My wife and I started a blog for our timber framing project.  After the frame raising we had a lot of family and friends asking how things are going.  We are posting new activities as well as older items that we have completed.  It is located at

Howdy Neighbor! We live in Silk Hope, would love to see your project some time. We have a log home, I have built a small frame workshop, and am in the process of cutting timbers for a bigger shop on my saw mill. P-mail me if your over our way and I'll send you directions. Best of luck.

Cool Blog there Joel.  You and your crew are doing an exceptional job on the home.  Keep up the good work.  I'll check into the Blog from time to time to keep updated.

We currently live in a log home that was built in the late 20's or early 30's (not exactly sure when it was built but have a good idea.) but it needs 1000's of dollars in restoration that we can't afford to do.  The logs were cut and squared with an adze and then dovetailed with hansaws.  There is hardwood floors throughout.  Just wished I could afford the restoration but we have it figured out to be a minimum of 40,000 after the foundation is repaired.  The estimates for the foundation is 12,000.  A little to rich for my blood I'd have to say and besides there is no work around here. :(
