I put down our first load of 2x8 SYP flooring last month and got the second floor bathroom framed in so the plumper could come out and play.  Here's my variation on the peg and wedge technique for getting flooring tight.  The flooring is face nailed with antique style square head nails from Tremont.

It's a bit rough on the clamps but they are holding up better than I predicted.

Here's a shot of the completed portion of the floor prior to adding the bathroom framing.

One after the framing...  All the 2x4s and most of the 2x6s are rough sawn and air dried lumber I milled over 18 months ago.  Unfortunately I had to include a couple 2x6s from the lumber yard so they'll probably shink waves into the walls.  No KD available in this area except select 2x4s... >:(

And lastly a shot of the kitchen ceiling.

That's nice looking.  I've never laid 2X flooring, I'll bet it's hard to pull when it's not straight!  It's got to be a great feeling using your own lumber!

Looking really good Raphael.
I'm going to make my loft floor, which will also be the bedroom/bathroom cealings the same way, except that I'll be using 1"x4" T&G boards on 16" OC joists.  I've laid out the full size boards in the loft out of boards cut last fall.  They'll stay there all winter and I'll rip, plane one side and T&G them next summer. I worry a little about dust filtering down thru the cracks into the bedroom and bathroom.

Nice floor Raphael.  Some day, I hope to have floors.  :)  Presently, my floors are still in the logs next to my sawmill.  I am using (gasp, store bought) Southern Yellow Pine to deck the roof of [art of my house right now.  Not ever having cut/milled any SYP myself, I am amazed at how heavy/dense this pine is.  Some of the boards weigh as much as an oak board would.  SYP is cheaper than SPF (spruce, pine, fir?) at our local lumber yard, but it seems to be more durable wood.  Are your SYP boards heavy as well?

Some planks are heavy and others are really heavy, it makes EWP and poplar feel like balsa.  The flooring starts out as SPIB no.1 KD 19 HT (some could have made no.1 dense) so it's pretty stable when it gets reworked into flooring.  I had only one board I couldn't wedge in line.

I'll be sure to take you up on that once the electricity is on and the attic insulation has been dealt with.
I had my engineer over the other day to talk about a Debbie friendly attic staircase and wound up with yet another expansion of the living space.  :D  We'll be buffing the floors with work shoes and saw dust for a while yet.  ;)

Max-
The flooring starts out as planed grade stamped dimensional lumber 1-½" thick, the finished face tends to vary some but is usually 7-3/16".  They (The Timber Shop) make up a "2x6" T&G V groove that starts as 2x12s straight line ripped down the center before machining the T&G.  I was going to go with those to ensure ease of installation and add interest to the ceiling but we had a good deal on the 2x8s pop up and took it.  It's a centered T&G so I've placed a few boards upside down when they had excess wane (adds that ceiling dimension back).
There's a fellow in NJ using the V grooved 2x6 as the interior wall planking for his wrap and strap...  Nice way to go if you can afford it.   ::)

I like the looks of the ceiling. looks nice when it is an all in 1 job. Did you put the T & G in yourself? What did you use?
