What are other people sharpening their angle to?

I called Bailey's and they said 25 degree, I measured the (new) chains again, and it is
30 degrees as far as I can tell. Could it be that it just looks like 30 degrees
measured against a template (and my grinding wheel) and that it is suppose
to be sharpened to 25 degrees?

I sharpen mine to 30 degrees, I believe that it cuts better at 30 than 25.

30 degrees will cut a little faster but it will dull a little faster too, 25 degrees or less would be better if you're cutting in dirty conditions.

I think that 25° is only marginally, and by the slimmest margin, better than 30° in dirty conditions. Chisel chain is not the best choice for dirty conditions at any angle. I`d use RM for dirty. 25° holds an edge slightly better in frozen wood but I think that beyond these angles being a personal choice, it is still a matter of splitting hairs.

I was grinding it at 35 degrees, but, I realized when I put a new wheel on, that the old wheel was off/worn and the chain was not 35 degrees from the factory ... my bad  :-\

The thing that made me start looking at my 35 degrees was it was really "grabby" and dulled quickly and I thought maybe I was grinding the temper out.
