I've got some jr-Ibeam from a couple mobile home frames and was thinking of using it for a chain fall hoist but I'm not sure what kind of load the material can take.

The beam is height (I) is 9 inches x 3 inches wide x 1/8" web thickness. Anyone know where I can find the numbers?

Thanks
Sam

That web seems awfully thin for a 9 inch height.  I would be afraid the beam would twist and buckle when loaded.

I would want some relaible structural advice before proceeding.

it is pretty thin stuff, I'm just trying to find something to use it on. Might be worthless, I cut this off a mobile home frame a year ago I think.
