We are finishing the masterbath and have a shower question. The shower floor is 8' x 10'  and currently sealed with a cement sealer type covering that we painted on about 3 years ago. Now I want to cover it with a more waterproof sealant, kind of similar to what you would put in a cement swimming pool. Something I can brush on or roll on. I don't think a pour-on would work so well.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I can get photos of what it currently looks like if you need me to.

Patty, are you going for an attractive finish or just a better seal against water? There are many sodium silicate type concrete sealers that would work ffor just sealing. I use one called Hydroment. Roll or brush on and let dry. Penetrates and sets up. Good luck. Joe

While I don't want it to be UGLY, I really am not that picky. I mostly want a good sealant. I am hoping to get one in a grey slate type color if possible. Blue is out of the question.

I Googled "epoxy floor covering" and came up with a resin mix that is pretty cool. http://www.keyresin.com/                          Thanks Jim.    :)

I love terrozo (sp?) flooring, but don't know if our skill level is there. I am thinking this keyresin is similar to what is on the floor already, and we may just put a second coat of it down to reseal it. It is not leaking now, but looks like it might start before long, so I want to get it resealed before we have REAL problems. I cannot go with a tile, because the floor is slanted inward toward the center drain, plus I have tiles on the walls, and want more of a plain looking floor. More tiles would be too busy looking I think.

Usually smaller tiles are used on the floor to follow the pitch to the drain and to add a bit of contrast to the larger wall tiles.
Check out the 1"x1" tiles.
You can do a unique design or monogram in the floor if you wish.

Furby is right  use 1x1 tile  they come in sheets of 12x12 or 12x24 you want them to slope toward the drain . Also use thinset to apply tile . Never use mastic on a floorand never use it in a wet area.
I thought that it would look funky also since I had 4x4 tile on my shower walls . I used a low gloss white tile and white grout ,even the mistakes don't show that way.
