The satellite maps seem much more current on Google Earth as well.  The maps on the link that Jeff posted are at least 7 years old (at least the ones of my farm),  Google Earth's are only 2 years old or so.

If you notice the one I posted gives you options for several maps including the google maps. If you dont see the menu, right click on the page.

Donk, ya want me to explain what yer missing? ;D    You can zoom in and out on the satellite photos, you can drag the screen in any way you want to go to follow terrain or roads as if you were flying over top. You can switch from one set of sat photos to another or switch to regular maps.

Swamp, if I gave you our land location would you be able to find it and zoom in on it?
If so, I'll get it and you can look at the lay of our land.

Coon, not on dialup with all those flash screens. The only success I had on internet photos was through the USGS terraserver.

Jeff, it would be nice to play with that site, but it ain't never gonna happen here for some time to come. No high speed access out here, only in towns. And since I ain't moving...........  ::)

;D

I guess Bob and I will just have to go back to the wood shop and make sawdust and 'stuff'. ;)

Nice thing with google is I can lay the map out to a horizontal map and get a good idea of the lay of the land.  It is a pretty good topigraphical map. Used it last night to look at a proposed cabin site about 70 miles out in the bush. I started using it along with my GPS so I can kinda see what I missed in the bush.
WOW I love this here new fangled electronic gizmo  :D   I found a small lake on my wood lot that I didn't know was there.  It is tuked away behind a ridge that I've been wanting to explore for a long time now. I'm headed out there this afternoon to check it out. That's if my sled dogs are up to breaking a new trail. The old skidoo is in town with the wife. ;D
Let you know what I find.
