Proper US Flag Etiquette

Am liking the LED solar light for the flag. Clamps to the pole so if it ever rains again, will come inside with the flag.

Mine is illuminated with a solar LED flag light. I played with the angle and distance so it only lights the flag.

I installed solar lights to shine on the flag I have mounted off the front porch post. So far, with mostly sunny days, the lights shine all night on the flag. So now it stays flying night and day.

We usually have 4 flags coming up our road on display during non snow months.
I just need to put a new holder on the electric pole for number 4.

Of course both of the "entrance" Flags are down now.  On the 4th, our plan is to have the entire entrance displayed with 5 additional smaller flags and 3 banners.

I had noticed that my neighbor widow lady's flag had become quite tattered and worn so I bought a new one for her.  After asking her for permission, I Hoisted and Saluted a brand new US Flag.


 
There was no wind this morning but when I went to take a picture, the Flag returned my Salute.

The old flag had been raised by her late husband so I triangle folded and presented it to her.  Yes, there were tears.

Thank you Magician.  That is one of my pet peeves, seeing a tattered flag flying, especially when it is a business.  Your situation was different, and I do not bear any ill will towards your neighbor.  Thanks again.

This is a very informative thread. Thanks fellas. Ill have to check and see if Canadian Flag Etiquette is similar/same as our U.S. neighbours. I noticed that most U.S. flags are red, white and blue but Magic's seems to have black on it as well(between red and white stripes). Are there other variations of the U.S. flag?

No black.  Where the stripes are sewn together the seams are thicker and not letting the light show through.
