I was browsing the net looking for articles or helpful information in using solar cell as a supply.  I have this container as Kiln which I require to run to 220v fan using battery and 220v inverter which is hooked to the solar cell for pushing some air through wood when it stored in the container which is converted as klin. I was asking if any body heard or have seen this power supply combination

There was a problem with the posting of this topic that was compounded by an unknown software gremlin.  I'm hoping that it is fixed now.  :)

Thank you Tom. The gremlin wouldn't let me remove the extra topics.

Why not use DC fans? There will be loss converting from 12V or 24 VDC to 220 VAC using an inverter. Right now solar technology is running from $3 to $5 a watt and with inverters being only about 70% efficient that is expensive heat to be creating. I am going to use these fans in my kiln once I get it built.

thank you jason that is very nice at least I got some information. i can use theose but the problem I need some energy source to charge the battery. I think for 20 feet container maybe i need 3 or 4 fans what do you think.

Jason, I'm in the very early stages of building my small, all-solar kiln.  I took a look at radiator fans, but at first glance it seemed that their amp draw was a bit high and would require big panels.  Do you have a fan/panel setup planned?  I'd be interested in seeing other options because right now I'm looking at about $500 to $600 for two of these:

I already have two 96W evergreen solar panels. These were blemish panels that I got off of ebay. I have a 300W charge controller that will control the charge of batteries. I am going to use 3 of the 24 V fans from surplus center in my kiln. I am also going to have 4 servo controlled louver vents to control the airflow for venting. Everything will be microprocessor controlled and temp / humidity will be datalogged. I have most of the parts but I need to get the structure built. I am going to build it on a portable platform so it can be moved anywhere.
