I agree, get the gauge (not pitch) that is most readily availiable.

For a 28" bar you should consider full skip, unless it is just for reach.   ;)

If you mod the muffler you don't need skip. ;D
The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Don't feel lonely logger - this chain stuff is not as easy as it first seems. There is a lot to learn. I think a book could be written on it alone though I do not know of one. My Clymer Service Manual has a few pages dedicated to it but I would like to have something that covers everything their is to cover about chain.

Who feels like writing a book I will publish it for us!

Do they make 24" or 28" semi chisel full skip chain, some logs have dirt/mud  on the bottoms.

Full chisel does not stay sharp in these logs at all.

I know I was just telling sawtroll that I meant gauge not pitch.  I think he thaught I meant pitch.  As far as knowing chains I know stihl second nature(really good) , I know oregon pretty good, and woodsmanpro pretty good.  The rest like carlton, windsor,GB etc... I don't know them because I don't run them. :D :) ;) ;D 8)
