Think less about what is in the pic and more about the pic it's self...

A huge pat on the back is in order for woodmizer...

Wait a minute. If Bibby thinks it'll be a "free upgrade" for WoodMizer owners I'm thinking it's something you already have but has been re-engineered for safety reasons or maybe functional purposes. If it's safety I think WoodMizer would automatically send it out to those it applies to. That's how safety upgrades have been done in the past anyway. Free upgrade doesn't scream "new product" to me. When can we know Bibby?

They wouldn't charge you for a new way to take your money in return for a part without their having used an employee on the phone.  ........maybe.  :D

You guys have pretty much got it.  See if this screen shot clears it up.

Note the "Wood-Mizer Customer Gateway" at the top.  They are still testing and adding to it so I can't give out the web address.

Here's how it works..  You get to the login page and create a login and password.  You fill out some info including the serial number of your mill.  Then when you need to get parts,  any time day, night, weekend, holidays,  you log in, go down some pull-down menu items and there you are.  It was so simple even I couldn't screw it up.  It's got the lastest parts for your specific mill.

The new system has many other features too.  It list your latest orders.  It allows you to pick the shipping courior and method.  It's got a section of often used common parts like belts, guide rollers, etc.

Non-Wood-Mizer owners will be able to use it too - to buy blades, accessories, cant hooks, etc.

Hey!  I just went to the Wood-Mize web site and they've got the new Customer Gateway link posted right there on the main page so I guess the door is open.

If you're a Wood-Mizer owner you can get regestered and go on in and look around.

If you're not a Wood-Mizer owner you can still get to a lot of stuff like blades, cant hooks, jackets, etc.

They've got a special on a AM/FM radio headset that works as hearing protection.  (Maybe Mary will get me some for Christmas.)  ;D

Hey Bibby,

Got it.  Thanks !  Having the parts break downs and pix online is handy. Having spent two years of my life supporting a similar application, this required a significant amount of work.  My hat is off to WM for offering this.

I was exchanging some e-mail with Electric-Al and he said he'd set up his login and such for his WM Customer Gateway and thought it was real slick.

Anyone else been using it?  Or hit the site and looked around?

Yeah I'm already using it. I was able to get exactaly what I needed to rebuild the power feed for my 91 lt 40. It was very conveinant to be able to look at the exploded views and pin-point my parts. I believe it will be a very sucessfull addition to W/M's already above board service to their mill owners. THANK YOU WOOD-MIZER.

I got signed up, and when I found out the brake shoes were shot, I figured I would just get online and order them.  Unfortunately, Most people do not drag their mill down the road with the safety lanyard pulled, therefore there is not much need for brake shoes.  They are not shown in any of the books, or online.  Doug is supposed to have them coming to me.  Guess they have to get them from Dexter.  Just my luck!!  :'(

I go out to the Wood-Mizer Customer Gateway every now and then even when I don't need parts just to see what they've added.  About every time I find they've added a new feature or item besides parts.

This morning I found they had added a whole new setup for displaying their used mills.  They have also offering a service of brokering used mills for customers.  Lots of mill for sale (at this time) and lots of pictures of each.

You don't have to be a Wood-Mizer owner to get to the Customer Gateway and also you can get to the Used mill ads from the regular Wood-Mizer web site.

Here is the link...
