You have to place your own trees using the members map. Only members that have done so show up. :)
Sumptimes I jest gotta read de instructions. :D
Just gottme on da board dare. ;D
One of deese daze, I'm gonna be one of da most North members.

Bro. Noble

This forum has at least one forester, builder, woodworker, and sawmiller from the southeast that really knows what they are talking about and are willing and able to share their knowledge.
,  what more could a guy ask for? ;D

I like to see how things are done in other places----I really look forward to seeing what Paul-H is up to,  the threads on logging in the Amazon,  Down under,  and in the frozen fishing villiage in Canada are fascinating to me.

I don't ever plan to make Maple syrup,  but I've sure enjoyed learning a little about it and even being able to sample the results because of this forum 8)

I wasn't able to attend the silo shoot in Iowa and can't make the sawing of the redwood log in Wisc,  but have been able to attend a pig roast in Michigan.

I've had the good fortune of meeting lots of fellow members from all over and consider them good friends.  There was a Yankee fellow and his wife came by to say howdy last week and a sawyer from Mississippi coming by this week.  Got some fudge in the mail from another member yesterday.

Wm,  you mentioned needing prayers because of the 'girls ' pressing you to go shoppig with them.  I know you were kidding,  but you know this forum even has a prayer list for those members that need help from their many friends they have made on this forum. :)  As far as the shopping goes,  I see you are already getting advice from the many wits and nitwits that make this  (and I feel you are beginning to see this) THE ONLY FORUM  needed ----don't make no never mind where you live ;D ;D

WM, were you at the Woodmizer event in Perkinston, MS?

Stew

Nope, I wasn't there.  Must've been my twin.

Thanks for all the advice on how to get out of shopping.  I managed to miss the trip & ride around Macon county with my Paw.  Much better!

Don't forget member Quebecnewf way up on the NE coast of Quebec with his saw mill, sleds and such on 'mini Antarctica.' Got the island, the ice, the snow and the wind to go with it all on a treeless landscape. You guys down south got it rough.  ;D :-\

Let's get a little serious here.  Between Tom and DanG the Southeast is somewhat "heavily loaded" with FF'ers.
Slabs  : Offloader, slab and sawdust Mexican, mill mechanic and electrician, general flunky.  Woodshop, metal woorking shop and electronics shop.

Jeff, where do you go to place the tree on the map? wm, dont feel alone we are here but just like Don k. said its to nice out to sit at the computer when there is work out to do and its 70 deg out. I dont even recall sweating this weekend while I was catching up on grinding stumps. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

I was over in Swainsboro, GA cruising timber last week and broke a good sweat.  Got into the 80's!  Not hot, but warm.  I'm loving this winter "part 2" we've been having in the south the last few days.  Glad I'm heading up to VA to cruise timber later in the week, should be a bit cooler up there, as I'm sure it's going to warm up around here pretty soon.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel right at home in the FF.

I thought I was "Southern" till I saw Tom's post. Then consider Asy's or Peterson's location in the world. They may not know what good grits are but, I still consider them brothers and sisters of the South.  :D :D :D
