Fista will have a class this winter near Hayward if there are enough interested in taking it.
I am interested but they need more attendees than they have now to put it on.
If you use a saw and haven't taken this type of training you should.
I haven't yet in my more than 50 years but I will before I fell another tree.
I think its that good, that important.
Heres some info on it.
----------------------

FISTA is most well known for its hands-on Chain Saw Safety Training Program, which has been conducted in hundreds of locations across Wisconsin and across the country. Chain Saw Safety Training is conducted for a wide variety of groups such as: loggers, foresters, landowners, highway departments, correctional facilities, conservation districts, municipalities, and many more. FISTA is a member of the national Game of Logging™ (GOL™) organization and incorporates the GOL training format into its Chain Saw Safety workshops.

Get ahold of them and tell em you want to sign up. So they will have a class.... and I can go. :)

Some more opportunity for those in NE Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association - Wolf River Chapter will have a Chainsaw Safety field day on Sat Dec 8. Contact is Lee Lehrer 715-677-3805. Might be worthwhile, not that you're gonna get certified or anything like that but I've gone to a few field days in the past, always something interesting to see and learn.

Sharp edge, if you know anyone else up there have them check it out too. Even someone who is just a weekend firewood cutter.
Maybe especially a weekend fire wood cutter.
If they are like me they learned felling and chainsaw techniques from someone else who didn't really know what he was doing either.  :)
I sure hope they have the class......
