Circle mill down the road..

Went cruising down the road today in search of a rumored 55 oliver tractor..no dice there, but I did notice a pretty neat stack of logs in a lot behind an old hog barn (well...this IS Virginia ham country..) and thought...hmmm...neat pile of logs..waitaminute...he's got a mill in there...so i flipped around and went back...sure enough..1920's vintage circle saw..pretty one too, the guy has built all new salt treated timber framing for the carriage works and power transmission...runs the thing off of
a tractor PTO...

i'll try to get down there with a camera in the next couple of months and get some pictures...

Zopi,get to know the old guy and offer to help him mill ,you can learn alot,"sawyer" is hard to learn from books.

He's not been at it very long..I am going to get to know him, but not because he's the wizened ancient wood guru.. :D

There is a fellow my dad worked for over in So.KY. that is tho'....i might have to go see him sometime.
