Homemade A/C? (chillers)

Anyone made their own A/C by running cold water through an air/water heat exchanger type of contraption? I've heard it can work very well. I have a 3/4" or 1" spring line going by the house that runs 24/7. I was thinking of running it through a chiller to try and take some of the humidity out of the air.
