hi, i've got a bunch of black ash that I want to get cut up, so I can make a dinning table (huge) and maybe coffee table, ect for my camp..don't need it for about 2 years...and was wondering how should it be cut?

i'm not the one cuttting it, but thought I would ask the question...should you rotate the log each time you take a slab off?

thanks for any help!

I would have the cant turned after each board cut and avoid the pith/juvenile wood of the centre. Less checking in the end I think. That's going to be a rugged table. Black ash is usually tight grained, but not as dense and heavy as white ash once dried. ;D
