What is the maximum allowable rounout on the big blade on a Mobile Dimension mill? I called the factory and they say 1/10". I measured mine at about 1/16". Yet when I reported this figure, I was told that I should have it hammered anyway.

So, in paractical terms, at what amount of runout do you MD owners get your blade straightened out?

By the way, I measured the runout with the aid of the rubber-tipped outside guide rod. I adjusted it until it just touched the blade at one point. Then rotated the blade around to the largest gap, which turned out to be around 1/16".

ALSO- does anybody know of a good place to get a blade like this hammered straight in the Northern Virginia area? I'm in Leesburg.

when we put the mills together we use a runout gage mounted on the carriage. .020 or less is exceptable. whoever hammers the blade, no dish required, stiff&flat=good sawing.
