I've never been to this event, but a woman I work with goes every year and has been telling me about it, and gathering up all the literature she can find on it for me.  This year I would really like to attend, and was wondering if anyone else from the forum will be going so we could meet up  :)   Smwwoody, I think this is up in your neck of the woods....how 'bout all you others?   Here's a link to the event that is held at the PA lumber museum in Potter County:

I highly recommend the Bark Peeler's Convention. If you have never been to the museum, plan on a few hours in there. In all of the other buildings there is all kinds of old equipment and a lot of demonstrations on using it. Outside, you find saws powered by hit-n-misses, saws powered by steam, ehh... you should go. I think I'll go again. Route 6 takes you through some of the prettiest towns in Pennsylvania, to boot. Forgot the guys on logs on the water. hilarious

I might be able to make that one.  I'll be over in Roulette for the 4th.  Bluegrass, folk and rock gig.

Hi                                                                                                                                                                                        This being my first post, I'll probably get it screwed up, but any of you have a chance to go to the museum, by all means go, it is an interesting place.  And while you are there, go down in the lower level, below the sawmill, around the boilers, to the planing room and check out the machines that I donated to them a few years ago.  I have some pictures that my son took of them last year, maybe I'll figure out how to post them one of these days.                                                                                                                                         Harry

Welcome aboard.  Since that wasn't too painful, maybe you'll want to try a hand at posting pictures.  There is some good information on exactly how to do that at:

We'd like to see your stuff.

I stopped by the museum a number of years ago, only to find it closed.   >:(
