There is a Pail finger crane for sale, lifting capacity 8700#, 20 honda motor. I would like to mount it on my 24' trailer. Will it work and any idea of what it is worth?
Too much work-not enough pay.

I just figured out what you meant by 'finger crane'. The brand name is 'Palfinger' and they make knuckeboom cranes.

I worked with a palfinger at the nuke, about a 50 ft. reach, lot of deflection in it. Million dollar peice of junk, they had 2 techs from the company working 24/7 to get the electronics to work,by the time they got it right it was time to take it apart and get it out of containment.500 pounds would give it a 10ft deflection in the boom. Some people like'em

50' seems a little too far for an extension. Here is a shorter one, this is an older Prentice from a smallish truck. I hope to mount it on a trailer sometime soon. It lifts 6500 lbs at 6-8 feet, 16' reach. Nicely made. It is one this army trailer for temporary storage.
