My Mom gave me the best present ever this evening. She put together a recipe book of all my favorite childhood foods she used to make for us. It has titles such as red beans and rice, chocolate pie, old fashioned vanilla ice cream, meatloaf, mashed taters, squash puppies, peanut butter balls, and many others.

It brought a wide smile to my face when she presented it to me.  ;D

I've already returned my gifts.  I had a few wonderful days with 4 lovely Granddarlin's in the house, and I returned them to their Mom yesterday.  My Son BillG fetched them down from Birmingham last week, so they got a nice visit with "Unka Bill", then they spent a couple of days with us. :) :) :)

Radar, I want that "Squash Puppy" recipe!! ;D

Stew I think that is a great present. I've always wished my Mom would have done the same before she passed away. If you do have some time post a favorite one for us. :)

Well yesterday I was working at the office just having come in from another round of cleaning out the blowing snow. Temps in the 4°F range and that brisk 30mph wind made it pretty miserable out. Patty had left earlier to go pick up my present. I just sat down with a hot cup of coffee when she shows back up and asks if I can clean out our drive and lot at the farm. Oh and by the way come with me to see your present, it's over at CPS our next door neighbor to the office. Ok so I bundle up and follow her to their office but it's closed and they've all gone home for the day. But what's this pickup with livestock trailer doing there, and hey that looks like my good friend Steve's outfit. He gets out of his truck with a big ship eating grin on and together Patty and he lead me around to the back. The door opens up and there stands my present.

Well I'm sure the look on my face was something to be seen as Patty said "isn't she cute" and Steve is laughing at my astonishment. So after 30 minutes of moving snow so we can get his trailer in our place we unload Sally. She's a 6 month old Jenny and is staying with the chickens until we see if Becky will be nice to her.

So after the initial shock wore off I'm tickled pink to have a new member to our farm. The guy she got him from said she'll most likely live to 30. I'm willing her to my good buddy Steve if I go first. ;D

Must admit, I LOVE Norm's Pressie, she's cute!!!

Careful, though, if Becky doesn't like her, Roxy might come kidnap her!!!

I got all I wanted for Christmas, I got to spend it with my Mum in Melbourne, with my Baby girl (who's taller than I am now) and my Son rang and told me he loves me.

What more can a gal want!?

Mind you, if I had to choose, I'd want Andrew here, too...  He couldn't come with us coz he's busy trying to finish off the cabin on the farmy, just in case one of you guys decides to grace us with a visit...   :D

I hope one and all had a Very Merry Christmas,

Hugs from down under.

I have to saw Wow! for this Christmas. I didn't really tell anyone what I wanted, but each gift I got was just what I wanted! I got a 4ft cant hook/log jack, the "beam machine" cs attatchment (will go along nicely with my cs mill as an edger), a 4 jaw chuck for my lathe, a bunch of furniture-quality wood screws, a Bora "clamp n cut" circ saw/router fence, and a wood burning kit. I am very thankful!

As a rule, animated Christmas toys annoy me. This is one that came into the household that I actually like.  ;D

Well, I got what I wanted too. The weather co-operated and I made it home. As for presents, I don't know yet. We'll have our Christmas sunday.
On a side note, I lost my cell phone in the airport in Cairo. I tried to find it and had the chief of airport security involved. Long story. Any way, somehow it turned up in the cago hold of the plane I was on. Made quite a stir. They put inflight security on the plane, sorta like a sky marshal, to keep an eye on me. To make matters worse, someone called my home number trying to identify who's phone it was so Lindy gets a call at 1:30 in the morning from somebody speaking arabic on my phone and really freaked out. She just knew I had been kidnapped. All was well and ended well. I've tried many times to convince her that Egypt is safe as could be, but she still worries that some eveil will befall me there.
