Thought I would share the story of our new theatre. We live in a group of islands in the Salish Sea off the NW coast of Washington State.

I was wondering the same thing.  Also, how are those pillars affixed to the 'boulders'?  It looks pretty cool!

That's a really nice piece of architecture logwalker. I don't know what species the log ends are, but the Haida built long houses on the "Misty Isles" and the red cedar held up well exposed. Now are those beams that are exposed laminated or solid? I never went to the website yet. On my way. ;D

The structure is not on our island and I have not seen it in person. But I will head to it soon. Will post some more pics after I do. I am more interested in how they are getting shear controlled on the open end. They did have an engineer on the project. Myabe it is getting it from the rear of the building somehow. Joe
