My firewood processor has flat chain on the elevator and the infeed. It is the square flat type used on farm elevators. I don't have a problem now, but when I do I would like to know how to repair it. I know some of you old farmers have a quick fix. I did buy a tool off of e-bay, but I think it is the wrong deal.
Thanks,
Woody
If you don't want to row, get out of the boat !

Farm stores nearby would very likely have the links you need.

Called "flat detachable chain" if I hear you right. There is a tool that holds it, making it easier to take apart. If worn a bit, then as mentioned, it slips apart.

Here is one source for an idea what is available.

No tools needed if it is the chain I'm pic in my mind , I have this chain on my fiewood conveyor. Just bend link opposite direction of use & slip link sideways, comes apart. Works pretty slick.

Gotta agree with Dave.  It looks like the old cornpicker chain.  Just bend it and whack it with a hammer.  It comes right apart.

Did not see the "tool" that I used to use. Simple thing with different size slots for different size chains. Put the chain in the correct slot, bend and hit with a hammer.
