 Hi FF,

I have a Stihl 011 AV, which is a great little saw that just keeps running and I keep it happy with regular attention.

Today, I was pruning and had it almost vertical when it stalled out.  I opened the carb box (not sure what the technical term is for this area on the saw) and there was gasoline sloshing around in there. I have no idea where it came from or how to find the leak. Any suggestions ?

Would it come from a leak from the tank, maybe seeping around the fuel lines. Everywhere else, carb-to-block for example, the engine is sucking so there would not be gas leaking out, right?

Thanks for your help!

Most likely it would be from the fuel tank vent. There should be some type of one way valve on the line to keep fuel from spitting out, but sometimes they get a little bit of crud in them which allows fuel to escape.
